Three-School is a high-quality pre-school program designed specifically for three year olds.  The program is modeled after the More at Four Preschool Program, which has a history of success both locally and state-wide.

The Three-School Program is provided in selected high-quality facilities in Lenoir County.  Priority will be given to children with limited English-proficiency, chronic health conditions, identified disabilities or developmental need(s) and families with lower incomes. 

Classrooms have no more than 16 children each, with one lead teacher and, if more than 8 children, one assistant teacher.  Lead teachers hold or are working toward Bachelor's degrees in early childhood education, child development  or a related field and teacher assistants have or are working toward associate degrees in early childhood education or child development. 

The program runs the same schedule as a regular school day for 180 instructional days each year.  Children must be three years old by August 31 of the current school year to apply.
